Michigan Locations encompass a beautiful and expansive environment for making movies and television programming. From seashore to urban industrial, farmland to wandering rivers and fields, all can be found in our great state. The Great Lakes are what symbolize Michigan across the globe. Our Fresh water lakes are the largest in the world and contain an overwhelming majority of the worlds fresh water supply. Surrounding these lakes are cities, towns, villages, industrial centers, and more. Interior to the coasts, Michigan is likewise populated with literally thousands (11,000) large and small lakes. These panoramic natural wonders provide backdrops for grand and humble dwellings and watersports like water skiing, kayaking, body boarding, jet skies, sailing, fishing, diving amongst a few.
Michigan film production has a long history of filmmaking and production in the State. From the very beginnings of filmmaking to the advent of the automobile commercial, Michigan has been providing its setting to film, television, commercials and has set its sights on the future. Currently, with the passage of the new Michigan Film Incentives an historic change is occuring. Michigan Film shall provide the gateway to this industry.
